Interview with Elena Bilbao, founder of Bilbao Coaching

Elena, we want you to tell us how Bilbao Coaching was born, why, and for what purpose.

“Bilbao Coaching began to take shape in my mind a long time ago. Little by little, I’ve been shaping the idea, but it’s always been a natural thing for me to listen to people and encourage them to empower themselves, whether on a personal or professional level. I’m incredibly happy about the successes and achievements of other individuals. It makes me very happy to see people create new realities and projects outside of the “established framework,” I suppose because I myself have gone through and continue to go through processes outside of my “comfort zone.” And I know that it’s possible to make dreams come true because I’ve achieved it myself on several occasions. It’s all a matter of focus, discipline, and commitment to our own desires.

For all these reasons, I have always supported people in their personal and professional journeys (through my marketing agency, which has always been a bridge with entrepreneurs). Many friends and people (even strangers) have trusted and continue to trust me to speak honestly about their concerns.

So I decided to go a step further and offer a solely and exclusively coaching service, through which I can share my wisdom, which is what I know through my own personal life practice. To this end, I trained in Social Coaching and, of course, I continue my spiritual journey, which is an absolute priority in my life. In this way, I believe I can accompany people in business, personal, and spiritual coaching processes.

What do you think you can contribute to people on an individual and spiritual level?

First, I believe I can help them reconnect with their feelings. We live very disconnected from our essence. It’s important to listen to it. From there, we can begin to understand what’s happening to us, what we need to change, and what we want to achieve in our lives. This is the starting point to create a map of personal work. A map to be drawn by the clients themselves, to simply accompany them in the process. To have a vision of what we want to achieve in our lives, to give it a purpose and a sense of service and contribution to the world. In addition to, of course, achieving the lifestyle that best suits our desires. To do this, it is necessary to break with many limiting programs and thoughts, and that’s also why I’m here: to identify them and ‘hack’ them.

On a deeper spiritual level, I believe I can share, from my own experience, tools that have been useful to me in understanding who I am, what I am doing here, and living with greater peace and harmony, with myself and my surroundings.”

What tools do you consider useful in a process of spiritual growth?

“The tools can be endless and vary for each person. People can enter a meditative process by painting, singing, surfing, climbing, walking, cooking, doing yoga… not just by sitting down to meditate. Meditation, for me, means being present, in “observer” mode. Being aware of the here and now and the experience I am having in that here and now. This includes the place where I am, the sounds, the air temperature, my own breathing… There are many techniques to return to our center and to that state of contemplative presence. Then, there are another series of tools that allow us to delve deeper into our personal and soul history: the Akashic Records, regressive therapy, Reiki, therapeutic tarot, writing, channeling, conscious breathing… All of this, so that we strengthen the relationship with our own intuition, which is the compass that will always guide us on the right path. I would also add that it is important to have access to information that allows us to understand in greater depth the cosmos and the human reality in which we live. In that sense, there is a lot of information available today, but it is precisely essential to know how to discern so as not to fall into manipulations or distortions by a system that wants us to become more disconnected and robotic every day.

What do you think you can contribute to entrepreneurs?

“The process of starting a business is an adventure and a leap into the unknown. It takes courage, drive, and a well-structured action plan to carry out a project. I believe I can help people first organize their minds and priorities regarding the project. They reflect and take confident and well-planned steps, with a realistic and well-established timeline of objectives. In this way, we can save a lot of money, energy, time, and resources, as well as often avoid the failure of the project itself. In entrepreneurial circles, I have met people and have seen how some of them have not been able to sustain their project over time because they had not done fundamental prior reflection. I’m here to help entrepreneurs navigate this initial phase, as well as the next steps in the development and launch of an entrepreneurial project. My knowledge of business strategy, marketing, communications, and public relations, I think they’re very useful at this stage, too. Believe me: starting out with someone else is much easier than doing it alone.

And for entrepreneurs with a certain track record in their project/business, what can you offer them through the “Business Coach” service?

“When the project is already underway and has a history, it’s first necessary to understand where we are on the path. As human entrepreneurs, we need to analyze where we are in our life, and how to see where the project itself is at.

Once this initial overview is complete, and considering the current context and the challenges ahead, a realistic strategy can be established, tailored to the company’s resources and its medium- and long-term objectives.

In the end, it’s all about focus and using the resources we have available wisely. It’s very important to be clear about our priorities, as well as our corporate values, mission, and vision, so that everyone is in harmony. An action plan tailored to us, not the other way around.

In this sense… What would you say are Bilbao Coaching’s mission, vision, and values?

“The mission is to improve people’s lives, by helping them believe in themselves and their own power and capabilities. Sometimes we just need someone to remind us of that and be there for us.”

The vision is of a freer world. Where people are masters of their own lives and their own creations. That is, where they create a life that suits them and stop trying to fit into the life others construct for them. Obviously, this also includes a high degree of personal responsibility and leaving behind codependent and victim roles. So the vision also includes a more responsible world, as this is intrinsic to a freer world.

And the values are those of freedom, inner strength, personal responsibility, self-improvement, and constant personal/professional growth. Today, the world needs radical (root and branch) changes in all areas. It’s time to build something new, and collaboration, cooperation, and love must be present in the foundations of that new construction. Otherwise, we will continue in a competitive and predatory system that only leads to our own self-destruction as a species.
